I’ve been using John Cawley twice per week for the last 6 weeks and the classes I do with him have made a noticeable improvement in the pain that I have been experiencing for the last 12 months from my bulging disk. My back, shoulder & gluts are stronger and I’m happy with the progress over this period.

I wasn't sure Pilates would be my thing until I have it a go with John. I was very impressed by John's commitment to focusing on my problems and how to fix them with movement. I thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to every class I had with him because he was so patient and engaging when it came to the exercise. I’ve been suffering with back pain on and off for the past 15 years and have been attending John’s pilates classes for the last 5 weeks. I’m quite surprised with the results already, as I’m now able to manage a much better range of movement, than prior to their functional movement screen. John is very knowledgeable and encouraging throughout the lessons. He also gives you tips on being more physically aware of your activity and movement in general, ensuring you get the most out of the exercises.
I have been suffering from migraine headaches for years and even though I know that fitness is good for me I have been avoiding it as after a fitness session even with a trainer I would get a massive headache, until I met John from Sydney Movement Studio. He assessed my mobility, identified my weak points, he acknowledged to my concerns and created a program for me. I have been training with him 1 on 1 for the past 4 months and I have never got a headache after a session, I got my energy levels up and I am not afraid to go to the training sessions. I can highly recommend John to everyone.
John really knows his Pilates and is an excellent instructor. He is very good at adjusting the exercising to your needs and limitations and specific areas of focus. He offers a very broad range of exercises that will keep your body and brain engaged, working and guessing. If you want to strengthen your body in a truly functional way, then John is the guy you need to see. He will work with you and work out an approach and a plan for you individually depending on your goals or problems. I reckon the routines that John puts together can save many people a lot of hours at the physio or chiropractor. Instead of repeatedly "treating" an imbalance or problem, with John you take matters into your own hands and put in the work to address it yourself. Highly recommended.
I discovered John after a long journey of seaching for a movement and exercise specialist who would truly listen to my body's changing needs. I've found him to be a thorough, compassionate and highly considered professional. He also pushes me (albeit gently) to challenge myself and particularly my mindset around what I'm capable of. He conducted a thorough functional movement test prior to me starting - which is more than I've experienced with the previous exercise physiologist I had been working with. Although I've only been working with John for a relatively short period of time, I trust his prudence and judgement and will be continuing to work with him ongoing into the future.
Love the great work and exercises with John.. He knows his stuff. The fact is, my leg injury has improved so much..and this has given me great hope for a full recovery 🙏 and my confidence is back..yay. I honestly couldn't have done it without your help. Thanx John!
